You are Beauty.
You are beautiful, whether it be on the inside, the
outside, or both. People are drawn to you as
strongly as you are drawn to the beauty in the
world around you.
What Emotion Are You?

So I do this quiz (because I am terminally bored, as usual) and it tells me I am beauty. Not that I buy any of that crap, especially since I didn’t know half of the songs they were asking me to choose from in one of the questions, but for some reason, I am still entertained by these things and when offered, will take the opportunity at least 1 out of 10-15 times.
Why?
PULEEZZZZZE, as if you can summarize a person based on 10 questions!
I think though that people crave these things and others (horoscopes, astrology, handwriting analysis etc.) out of a need to be defined.
When we seek convenient interpretations to our own summation, it should be seen for what it is, an act of desperation that screams "tell me who I am! I am not secure enough in my own identity not need your definition".
So now I wonder….why is it so important for us to define who we are? Why do we need to put ourselves within the boundaries of anything definable anyway? By doing this we place ourselves within the confines and restrictions of whatever human psyche offered the explanation of our definition.
Why must we limit/define ourselves with such titles as musician, doctor, artist, attorney and then model the rest of our lives by the A-typical behavior along those paths? Sure we choose our identities based on where we feel most comfortable, but only in part. Most is learned socialization born from our innate desire to define ourselves in easy to understand terms, even if it isn’t definable by profession but rather by mentality:
The victim, the slut, the super mom, the rebel, the professional, the over achiever, the under achiever, struggling artist, cheerleader, skater, intellectual, activist, Christian, witch, Buddhist
Me? Artist/writer Super mom and I guess I can add another now too- beauty.
