The shed

I forgot how soothing rain on a tin roof can be. It reminds me of days spent in an old shed we had out back as a kid. In a bold, independant move, my big sister Julie announced one day that she was going to live in there so Carrie and I would leave her alone. She spent and entire backbreaking day cleaning out that shed. We helped her remove the entire contents minus an old cot and threw everything into the garage. I liked playing house and came up with the idea to make curtains from yellow scrap material. The end result was pure 7 year old magic. A makeshift shelter even Robinson Cresoe would be proud of. Until dad made us put all the stuff back in the shed that night and we all cried.
